Overview
This specification defines the structure, sections, and reporting requirements for Echo Reports.
Echo Reports are the primary observation record format defined exclusively by EchoRTX.
Purpose
The purpose of this specification is to establish the reporting structure and requirements for Echo Reports.
This specification defines the structure, sections, relationships, and reporting conventions of an Echo Report.
Report Structure
Each Echo Report shall consist of the following sections:
- Core Entity
- Observation
- Structural Signals
- State
- Interpretation
- Position
- Summary
Each section shall serve a distinct reporting function within an Echo Report.
Report Sections
Core Entity
Identifies the Observation Object that is the subject of the report.
Observation
Communicates observed Recognition, Association, and Contextual Placement.
Structural Signals
Communicate observed structural characteristics associated with the Observation Object.
State
Communicates the reported observation state.
Interpretation
Provides a concise observational interpretation based on the reported observations.
Position
Communicates the reported Digital Position of the Observation Object.
Summary
Provides a concise synthesis of the completed Echo Report.
Observation States
Approved observation states shall include:
- Emerging
- Developing
- Converging
- Converged
- Contested
- Fragmenting
Only approved observation states shall be used within Echo Reports.
Report Boundaries
Echo Reports communicate observations.
Echo Reports do not:
- Optimize
- Rank
- Recommend
- Govern
- Certify
- Measure performance
Relationship to EchoRTX
EchoRTX defines Echo Reports as the primary observation record format of the EchoRTX system.
Relationship to EchoLens
EchoLens provides the observational perspective through which observations documented within Echo Reports are interpreted.
Relationship to the Digital Positioning Layer
The Digital Positioning Layer (DPL) provides the conceptual layer within which Digital Position is observed.
Echo Reports communicate observations regarding an entity’s Digital Position within the DPL.
Versioning
Echo Reports shall conform to the current Echo Report Specification.
Future revisions may expand reporting capabilities while maintaining compatibility with previously defined Echo Report structures.
